SERVICE AREA

For your convenience, Sawyer & Whitten Marine operates a fleet of well equipped service vehicles so that our technicians can come to where your vessel is docked or stored. On larger projects that are further afield our technicians will stay in temporary accommodation for the duration of the installation. For service calls and equipment installations our typical service area stretches from Jonesport Maine through all of New Hampshire, Massachusetts, plus Boston through all of Rhode Island to northeastern Connecticut. Larger re-fits and new builds can be undertaken anywhere on the east coast from Florida to Maine.

PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

A list of some of our recent projects gives an idea of the scope of work we undertake outside of our ‘home’ area:

• Installation of full electronics navigation, communication and entertainment systems package on a 36 foot new build in East Boothbay, Maine.
• An x band radar refit of a high seas oil tanker in South Portland, Maine.
• Supply and installation of electronic equipment and equipment commissioning and sea trial calibrations in liberty marina Danvers Mass.
• Installation and commissioning of a complete electronics navigation suite on a 37 foot Back Cove in Dimillos Marina Portland Maine.
• Supply of electronics, CAD installation drawings and technical support, sea trial & commissioning of the Portland Fire Boat new build for A.F. Theriault & Son in Nova Scotia Canada.
• Electronics equipment consulting, commissioning and sea trial on 2 new builds for Hodgdon Yachts in Boothbay Maine.

SERVICES

Our electronics department is a sales and service dealer for all the major marine equipment manufacturers. We can supply the equipment at competitive prices and install it with correct interfacing to your boat’s existing equipment. After installation, we will commission and calibrate the system and show you how to use it. Sawyer & Whitten Marine provides a Lifetime installation warranty on all the equipment we sell and install. In addition, many manufacturers provide extended equipment warranty’s if their products are installed by our factory trained staff.

Our electronics technicians combine years of troubleshooting experience with manufacturers’ product specific training sessions and NMEA technical classes. In fact our technicians are NMEA CMET, AMEI ABYC Master Technicians. From navigation and communication equipment, instruments, entertainment systems, to computers and marine software, we have the expertise and experience to track down the toughest technical problems and get your system up and running again in the shortest possible time.

Marine Systems

The marine systems department at Sawyer & Whitten Marine will ensure your boat is properly equipped for comfortable, safe cruising. Our skilled technicians sell, install and repair air conditioning, refrigeration and heating systems, water makers, battery chargers and electrical distribution systems. With ABYC Electrical, Marine Systems & AC & Refrigeration certifications, NMEA certifications and manufacturer specific technical training, our technicians have the experience and knowledge to keep you cruising safely in comfort.
As vessel electrical systems evolve from the traditional centralized circuit breaker panels to distributed power distribution systems that save weight and increase functionality, we can provide design drawings and/or installations to take advantage of the new technology. From alternate energy charging systems, the latest in battery technology to hybrid/electric propulsion, contact us for advice on your next new build or refit.
